Another delicious dish inspired by Harumi’s recipe book that both my husband and I love to cook for a cozy and easy dinner.
String Beans with Ground Meat
This recipe only shows one of its many versions.
Instead of green beans you can use the vegetables you like the most (personally I also like the combination with aubergines).
And also, if you are searching to slowly reduce the amount of meat in our diet, you can use Tofu instead of meat (you can find a perfect Tofu recipe here link).
Because my husband sometimes want to eat meat, I will show you the the omnivorous version.
Is a dish that can be served as a simple accompaniment to steamed rice, or to give an extra umami flavour on the top of your bowl of steaming noodles. Personally, I think it’s a very good component of the obento too!
So here is a simple recipe with sweet and sour flavors.
Wash and clean the green beans, dry them and cut diagonally the pieces into bite-sized pieces.
Cut the ginger and garlic finely, and the leek into thin slices. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pot.
Add the leek, ginger and garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
After this time add the minced pork.
When the pork is cooked, add the previously chopped green beans. Cook for 2-3 minutes moving the ingredients continuously with the help of a wooden spoon.
Add the soy sauce and mirin and mix. Cook for others 2 minutes.
Serve the dish still hot with a drizzle of sesame oil on the top.
